This 100-300mm F4 APO HSM EX telephoto zoom lens has a large F4 aperture for all focal lengths. Its two special low-dispersion (SLD) glass elements at the front and two other glass elements at the rear correct chromatic aberrations, which are common with this type of lens.
The length of the lens remains constant during focusing and zooming, while the Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) makes for silent, high-speed automatic focusing and allows you to manually adjust the settings. You can also use the circular polarising filter more easily and even add a lens hood, because the front group of glass elements cannot be rotated.
